ABOUT ME

I’m the author of mythic retellings for adults and thrillers for teens, have collaborated with actors to help bring their ideas to life and was a creative director for over twenty years, mentor young writers and creatives. I was also a Royal Literary Fund Fellow, where I worked with students to help bridge the gap between what is in their head and what appears on the page.

While that might look like a lot of success, I’ve also experienced a whole lot of failure.

I’ve had books rejected, deals cancelled, I’ve even had my publisher go out of business just as the third book in my series was about to be published. 

I’ve been too afraid to pick up a pen. I’ve got half-way through a book and wanted to throw it in the bin. I’ve thrown whole books in the bin because they weren’t working. 

But, I’ve learned how to face these fears and find my way back to writing, because writing is the thing that brings me the most joy. And that’s what I want to do with you.
